David is born, bred and educated in Dunedin. After graduating from Otago University he worked for Audit New Zealand where he gained a valuable appreciation of business risk assessment and best practice financial control procedures. In January 1995 he joined J W Smeaton and became a Partner in 1997, since this time David has become an experienced Accountant who is well liked by his clients for the way in which he intelligently explains complicated issues and for the time he invests in assisting with growing their businesses. David is a leader within the firm and he works hard at passing his knowledge and experience onto work colleagues, he is currently working on his governance skills by gaining accreditation as a Director through the Institute of Directors.

Has been a Chartered Accountant since 1995 and has a mix of Commercial and Public Practice experience. Jason trained at Deloittes, broadened his outlook while working in London Investment Banks for 10 years and gained a valuable appreciation of risk management and financial control procedures while at Fulton Hogan. Jason strives to be efficient at work to ensure maintenance of a good work life balance. He enjoys interaction with all people, particularly the young. Jason's never ending interest is with people and how their human natures interact to impact the business and sports worlds.

Tony is a chartered accountant with 40 years experience in public practice. He established his own firm in Dunedin in 1985 and merged with JW Smeaton Ltd in 2007. Tony has a particular interest in the creative sector and has provided professional services to a large number of art practitioners over the years. He has served on the boards of a number of community organisations and has been on the Permanent External Advisory Committee (PEAC) of the Dunedin School of Art at Otago Polytechnic since 2004. He is also an advisory board member of the Dunedin School of Art Foundation.

She also runs her own small business with her husband and enjoys socialising, travelling and family time with their two children.

Jenny is our receptionist/administrator and has been with the company for 15 years so knows most of our clients. She handles wages, data entry, typing and handles all aspects of the company office web site for our clients. Her interests are square dancing, Irish music and culture, reading, and her four grandchildren. |

Margaret is our credit control administrator and provides client services. She also assists with PAYE, GST returns and general tax administration. She originally graduated with a nursing degree in Dunedin, but has gained valuable experience in accounting in both New Zealand and Australia. She has a son in Auckland and enjoys collecting antique jewellery, gardening and reading.
